about

“In The Meantime” is a more personal record than the previous releases. The sound is clearer and the lyrics shine the spotlight on everyday life. The record was a collaboration with Eric Den Haan (Birch Barks). Eric brings a unique perspective and style that makes this a distinct EP in “The Silkstones” discography.

1. Its Quiet Now
Is a reflection on the little moments I share with my wife and how precious they are to me.
2. Little Jasmine Dreams
Using snippets of a phone recording Eric created the colorful “Little Jasmine Dreams” a wistful track that works as a segue into the stripped down next number “In the Meantime”.
3. In The Meantime
Is a track about all the friends and people that fall to the wayside as life stretches on.
4. One Life’s Enough
Comes from how important your loved ones are and how they inspire life when things aren’t going to plan.
5. Narrow Minded and Drunk
A sound collage that Eric shaped using clips I recorded on my honeymoon. It is a tunnel of noise that storms its way into a place of clarity.
6. Dry Your Eyes
The final track “Dry Your Eyes” is a song about loss and the process of working through emotions without losing any spark.
